Where does the data come from?
Lookups use RDAP, the JSON successor to WHOIS. The tool asks IANA's public RDAP bootstrap file which server is authoritative for the extension, then queries that registry directly from your browser. No domain is sent to TextTool.in.
Why is the registrant hidden?
Most registries redact personal contact data or the owner uses privacy protection. This tool shows only what the registry publishes and does not try to get around redaction.
Why does a lookup fail for some extensions?
Some registries have no RDAP service, and some RDAP servers do not allow requests from web pages (CORS). Browsers cannot use the classic WHOIS protocol on port 43, so those domains cannot be looked up here.
Does domain age show whether a site is trustworthy?
No. Age is calculated from the registration date only and says nothing about a site's quality or safety.
